imago vita workshop
What's a girl to do when it's 20 degrees below the normal fall temperatures outside to stay warm? Aside from those HOT glazed donuts I may or may not have tried this morning, I like to reminisce about the Imago Vita Workshop! My sister & I were asked to be a part of it this year & just thinking about it instantly fills me with warm fuzzies!
Shannon from Imago Vita Photography is not only a phenomenal photographer, but she is so talented, sweet, & oh so giving of her knowledge and wisdom! When you combine all of those awesome things, you not only get amazing images, you get a happy heart just from being around her! The world is filled to the brim with photographers, so it is important to have more than just talent. With Shannon, those are just some of the things that set her apart!
When she contacted us to style her set-up for her workshop, I nearly fainted & truly did SQUEAL with excitement! (I may have asked my husband to pinch me & asked my sister 1000 times if she was kidding!) After calming down I might have had an ounce or two of fear creep in, because 1) this was SHANNON FROM IMAGO VITA 2) it was being held at Ashley Campbell from UNDER THE SYCAMORE's studio/land, & 3) what if she hated what we came up with or it wasn't what she was looking for?! My ever-supporting husband reminded me she wouldn't have asked if she didn't like our work. I quickly sat my fears aside and started doing what I do best: brainstorming, envisioning, & making notes/doodles of what it was all going to look like.
The whole afternoon was a dream-mixed with getting to do something I absolutely love, meeting new people, & finishing the evening with an amazingly-delicious meal from Amy (Happily Situated) and her hubby! My sister may or may not have even begged them to move in as a nanny in exchange for meals! I think she even agreed to do dishes, which trust me, meant this food was pure MAGIC!
Thank you to Shannon for having us, Ashley for providing the ultimate backdrop and atmosphere, Amy for laughs and the amazing meal, the attendees who were sweet as southern tea, & my sister for helping me bring another one of my visions to life! Also major props to the models Olivia and Derek, Lauren (from The Vintage Comb) for hair and makeup, Robyn's Flower Garden, Jessie Leigh Photography, & Livi Lee's for donuts! Literally if one thing would have been different, this awesome workshop would not have been the same!
